We have years of experience caring for families from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.
Becky is an avid reader and movie-watcher, but her favorite types of stories are fantasy and historical fiction. She adores all things Lord of the Rings (Samwise Gamgee is the best) and Harry Potter. Becky grew up in Orlando, FL, where she graduated from the University of Central Florida. During college, she met her husband, Duane, while kickin' it up at a local line dancing club. Due to her husband's Navy career, after marriage, they moved to Virginia, Georgia and Pennsylvania before settling in Tennessee. Becky had always wanted to live in east TN, so when the chance opened up, she and her husband grabbed it! Once in TN, in 2013, Becky started working with the Smith Life and Legacy family. Then in 2014, she decided to attend John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville to obtain her Funeral Director Licensure. She is also a Certified Cremation Specialist, a Certified Crematory Operator, and a Certified Funeral Service Practicioner. She and her husband, Duane, are members of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. They have two amazing adult children. Becky also has a fish, Barley (He lives in the Cremation By Grandview office).

As an Administrative Assistant Extraordinaire, Melissa is also a Certified Crematory Operator and a Certified Cremation Specialist. Having joined Cremation By Grandview in early 2022, she brings 18+ years of administrative and secretarial experience. Born and raised in central New York State not far from the Finger Lakes, Melissa finds Blount County to be very reminiscent of her childhood surroundings. After losing her husband Donald in 2021, she feels blessed to be able to help families through one of the most difficult times in their lives. Melissa enjoys spending time with her college-aged son, walking her dogs – Jemma with a J and Oliver with an O, doing word search puzzles, and watching “Good Mythical Morning” on YouTube. Two of her favorite movies are “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “The Princess Bride.” When not time traveling or training her dragon, Melissa enjoys making people laugh, and she believes that every day can be made better with a slice (or two) of pie.
Funeral director by day, adventure seeker by night! Jenni is a proud East Tennessee native, leading the way at Smith Life & Legacy in Maryville, TN since 2000. She's not your average funeral pro - she rocks multiple titles like CFSP and CCO. Graduating from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta was just the beginning of her incredible journey.
Jenni's dedication to her craft extends beyond national borders as a member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and past service on the NFDA Convention Education Task Force Committee and The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards.
When she's not making magic happen at work, you can find Jenni enjoying life's simple pleasures. Camping, reading, canning - she knows how to savor every moment. And if you're lucky, you might catch her cruising on the open waters on a boat!
Stay tuned to witness this bold funeral director embracing life with gusto. It's an adventure you won't want to miss!
