Victoria “Vickie” Adams, 61, of Maryville, passed away on Saturday, May 11 at her home following a short battle with cancer. Vickie was born on April 25, 1958 in Chicago to Mary Hunter Graham Vaden and Lamont “ Monty” Cranston Vaden. She was a 1976 graduate of Smyrna High School in Smyrna, TN and held positions in manufacturing, customer service and debt collection in addition to her years as a stay-at-home mother. She is survived by her husband, Tony Adams; one daughter, Monta Vaden, and two sons, Monty Bebout and Allan Adams (Kayla); three step-children; one granddaughter, Aubrie Saige Bebout; seven step-grandchildren, her sisters, JoJo Brannan (Mike), and Frankie Hatfield; three nephews, two nieces and many cousins, aunts and uncles, other family members and friends. A resident of Blount County for three decades, Vickie was a proud member of the Over Hill Cherokee Nation where she was known to friends as Spriritwind. She was an active church member, a former youth group leader, and a devoted marching band parent. Vickie is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gary Dewitt Bebout; her father and mother-in-law, Earl and Inez Adams; grandparents Warren and Louis Graham, Frank Earl Vaden and Luther and Alma Goad; one nephew, Kevin Trey Brannan; and many other special family members and friends. According to her wishes, Vickie’s remains will be cremated and scattered, and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
