Veronica McCandless, 92 of Loudon, Tennessee, formerly of Mars and Butler, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at The Neighborhood Assisted Living facility. Veronica will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Ronald McCandless (Nancy Colburn) and Patricia (John) Chuba, both of Loudon County, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Kendra (David) Fulmer of Dauphin, Pennsylvania, and Megan (Chris) Paul with two great-grandsons Logan and Austin of Cumming, Georgia, and step great-grandson, Christopher (Kiley) Paul of Halifax, Pennsylvania, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Veronica was preceded in death by her parents Sebastian and Veronica Kleber, her brother Anthony Kleber, her sister Henrietta Gilcher, and her loving husband of more than 50 years, Kenneth “Moe” McCandless, whom she met at Mars High School and they were Prom King and Queen. Veronica enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, spending time with her family and friends, bowling, playing cards, sewing, and tending to her beautiful flowers. A very special thank you to The Neighborhood at Tellico Village, especially the Memory Care unit for the love and care they provided, and also to Caris Healthcare for their hospice care and support. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
