Steven Jennings Butner

Steven Jennings Butner, age 70, of Alcoa, Tennessee, passed away on October 7, 2023. Born on July 1, 1953, in Asheville, North Carolina, Buncombe County, Steve was a loving father, brother, and grandparent, and he had many friends who will deeply miss him.

Steve is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Butner. He is survived by daughter Bridgette Butner Perkey, granddaughter Chaina (Nathan) Butner, grandson Mason Perkey, great-grandson Greyson, sister Rhonda (Rodney) Rogers, as well as his furry companions Buddy and Thumper. Nephews: Edward and Jackson Chaney, Richie Chaney (Jill, Sydney) Loving cousins Jan Rader and Courtenay Hayes, special "nieces" Kelly Shope and Courtenay Miller. Courtenay adopted Buddy and Thumper.  Steve also had special friendships with Carson Galyon, Leon Kivett, and Terry Bryant. and his Par T Pub Family.

Steve was a graduate of Everett High School in Maryville, Tennessee. His career was deeply intertwined with his family. His parents founded Par T Pub, where he dedicated many years of his life. Even after retiring from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, Steve continued to work at the Par T Pub.
