Ms. Ruth Louise (Haverkamp) Cano

Ruth Louise (Haverkamp) Cano, 87, of Friendsville, passed from this life on February 9, 2016. A native of Long Island, NY, Ruth had also resided in New Jersey and Colorado before moving to Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley R. Cano, her parents Marie Blix Haverkamp and William Haverkamp and 5 of her 6 brothers and sisters. After raising her family, Ruth worked for many years in retail as a merchandiser and remodeler for Woolco (a subsidiary of F.W. Woolworth), and as a manager for Southwestern Arts, Inc. in Aurora, Colorado. Ruth was a loving mother and generous friend. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Lenoir City. She is survived by her children Diane Cano Brown (Denis), Roy Cano, and Howard Cano (Belinda); by her grandchildren Zachariah, Sierra, Isaiah and Levi Cano, and Wesley Cano; by her great-granddaughter Elizabeth Cano; by her brother, Walter Haverkamp; and by many nieces and nephews.
