Rebecca “Gail” Smith LeQuire age 66 passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Blount Memorial Hospital. A graduate of Friendsville High School, Gail pursued a career in nursing, which was the perfect fit for her compassionate personality. She extended that compassion to her community, volunteering for over thirty years with Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department and Friendsville Citizens of Community Improvement. Gail was a proud member of Friendsville United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping in the nursery. To know Gail was to love her, and those who loved her knew her as “Aunt Gail.” Her love language was hugs and canning, and “Aunt Gail’s canned goods” were loved by many. She was a sucker to give her “babies” in the family whatever they wanted, as long as she got a big hug. Family was everything to Gail. She was a proud wife to Earl “Boot” Lequire for 33 years. In addition to Earl, she is survived by her sister, Linda Rogers, two brothers, Bobby and Danny Smith, nephews Shane (Kim) Rogers, Logan (Abby) Rogers, Brad Smith, and Bryan Smith and special loved ones David and Ida Moler and Karen Young. Her family is at peace knowing Gail has joined her parents in her heavenly home. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Friendsville United Methodist Church starting at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Linda Rogers, 832 Collie Cove Ct. Friendsville, TN 37737 to help with final arrangement expenses.
