After struggling with Parkinson’s, Neil Sparks passed away peacefully on October 3, 2023. A member of Love Oak Baptist Church, Neil retired from the Air Force and owned Sparks’ Body Shop. Neil was a perfectionist and built several street rods. He won Best Paint for his Candy Apple Red for two years in a row. He loved to dance and took pride in his work. He loved his toys, and he had many.
A special Thank You to Charlotte Olge and Neil’s nephew, Kim Clark, for their help with his care. At Neil’s request, there will be no service, only a private Celebration for the family.
Neil is preceded in death by his wife Judy McBrayer, his beloved fiancé Helen Vandergriff, father Bill Sparks, mother Billie Sparks, brother Robert Sparks, sister Christine Clark, brother-in-law Clyde Clark, sister-in-law Carolyn Sparks, and his beloved niece Teresa (Blevins) Nuchols. Neil is survived by his sister Jean Velda Blevins, brother-in-law George Blevins, brother Keith Sparks, brother Clell Sparks, sister-in-law Loretta Sparks, sister Carol Gregory, and 11 nieces and nephews.
