Myrtrude Garland Hall

Myrtrude Garland Hall, age 93, passed away on June 4, 2023. Born in Cades Cove, TN, Myrtrude is preceded in death by her Husband Clell H. Hall; father W.B. Townsend Garland; mother Mary Alice Garland; sisters Betty Ragsdale and Mary Quenemoen; and brothers Charles Garland, Lindell Garland, and Ray Garland. 

Myrtrude is survived by children Kenneth (Rose) Hall, Tony (Brenda) Hall, and Vickie (Stephen) McCarter; sisters Pearl O'Dell, Faye Ramsey, Shirley Breeden, and Thelma (Tom) Fraser; 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. 

As the eldest of 10 siblings, Myrtrude was a hard worker and learned to become a wonderful caregiver. She loved babies and took great joy in spending time with her many grandchildren and helping in children’s classes at church—even at 92 years old. Always ready for an adventure, Myrtrude travelled to 37 different countries and was still riding motorcycles in her 80’s. However, her greatest earthly joy was serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She aimed to live a life that was pleasing to Him and taught her family to love and trust Him above all else. Even as her memory faded and her body failed, Myrtrude remembered details of God’s faithfulness throughout the generations and thrived as she shared her stories. It is truly well with her soul. 

The Receiving of Friends will be held on Friday, June 9th at 6:00 pm, with a Memorial Service following at 7:00 pm at Maryville Vineyard Church, 713 William Blount Drive, Maryville, TN 37801.
