Margie Sue Phillips

Margie Sue Phillips, age 77, passed away on September 15, 2024. Born on November 9, 1946, Margie was a retired RN with Marietta Memorial Hospital with a love for gardening. She made everyone feel special and people loved being near her. There truly was nobody like Margie Phillips. She always went above and beyond what was expected. She was like that in her work and in her life. She was so warm and kind and loving but could drop a heartfelt F-bomb like a trucker, shocking the listener into laughter. Margie truly was one of the best nurses and best people we ever knew. She was always doing, always working, always helping, and always giving. Margie put everyone at ease. Being a caretaker came naturally to her just like breathing. Margie made a positive difference in so many people's lives -- patients, co-workers, friends, and loved ones. You will be missed Margie. Rest in peace dear friend.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents Dolly and Alvin Mooney, husband Laurence Phillips, and son Mark Phillips. She is survived by her son Michael Phillips, daughter Laura (Bobby) Latham, grandchildren Quinton Phillips, Josh (Brittany) Phillips, Travis (Torie) Deuley, and Marisa (James) Kendrick, great-grandson Oliver, brother Steve (Sharon) Mooney, sister Carolyn (Kenny) McComas, as well as several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
