Lila May Reuer

Lila May Reuer, 91, of Maryville, TN, was called from this life to eternal life in Heaven by her Savior Jesus Christ on March 26, 2024. Lila was born to Theodore (Teddy) and Lydia (Reide) Baer. She became a child of God and was baptized in the Theodore Lutheran Church in Walworth County, SD. Her confirmation also took place at Theodore Lutheran Church. 

Lila married Alvin Reuer at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bowdle, SD. They were blessed with 72 years of marriage and raised two children – Rhonda (Robert) Heckman of Maryville, TN, and Brad (Sally) Reuer of Port Charlotte, FL.

Lila is preceded in death by her parents, 12 brothers and sisters, and one grandson. She is survived by her husband, children and their spouses, as well as five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Lila led a long, happy life. She was a wonderfully devoted wife, mom, grandmother, and friend. Lila was a beautiful cook and she never let anyone leave hungry. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Praise Lutheran Church in Maryville (315 Southdowne Dr., Maryville, TN   37801), Pastor Eric Roberts officiating, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 2pm. Lila will return to Selby for burial at Selby Memorial Gardens, and a memorial service will be scheduled there with date and time to be announced. 

Lila will forever live in our hearts and her loving memory will be with us always.
