Leland "Lee" Wayne Johnston of Maryville, passed away at home, October 26, 2017, in the presence of those he loved; his family and his cats. He was born November 30, 1944 in Kentfield, California to parents Claude and Dorothy. His work took him many interesting places, including Alaska, Japan, Taiwan and most of the Continental U.S. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, and the love of his life, Andrea; his daughters Nichele Johnston, Jaime Everage and Christi Johnston; his grandchildren Ethan Everage, Jensen Malach, Ryan Wilson and Jonathon Wilson and his brother Gary Johnston. He is also survived by his beloved feline Jiggs, and the son he never had Sheldon Everage. Preceding him in death were his father Claude Johnston, mother Dorothy Johnston Null, step father Wayne Null, his brothers Robert Johnston and William Johnston, and his beloved cat Arlo. Lee was a master woodworker, and made many beautiful and functional objects for his family and friends over the years. He was a thoughtful and exacting worker, with the help of his wife, who loved a challenge. He was loving, kind, contrary, stubborn and opinionated to the end and his passing leaves an unfilled void.
