Mr. Johnny Potter

Johnny Potter, age 79 of Maryville, passed away at home Monday, July 30, 2018 at the family home. He was of the owner and operator of Johnny Potter’s Service Center for over four decades. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Johnny was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mary Potter; sisters, Rosie Gibson and Dorothy Harrison. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Peggy Lou Potter; Son, Michael J. Skaggs of Richmond, Indiana; daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Renee Self of Maryville, Melinda Raye Maner of Maryville, Shawn Suzette and Todd Theriot of Seymour, and Johnnie Rae and Shawn Cunningham of Maryville; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren in California and 2 extra special great granddaughters; sisters, Reva Thompson and Jonell Gilbert. A small family celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations in Johnny’s name to the American Heart Association.
