Jerry Roger West, born on July 8, 1940, in Maryville, Tennessee, to Peter A. West and Mayme R. West, departed this life on August 15, 2024, at the age of 84. A devoted husband, father, and community member, Jerry was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Linda Keller West, and his daughter, Jami L. West.
Jerry is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Dana West McNutt; stepdaughters, Kimberly Myers Addonizio, Dana Hord Reynolds, and Julie Hord Moore; along with a community of friends and relatives who were touched by his kind spirit and generous heart.
Jerry is a graduate of Maryville High School. Jerry's professional life was marked by his dedicated service as a plant supervisor at ALCOA, where he worked until retirement. He and Linda shared a passion for adventure, often found exploring the beauty of nature on horseback or traveling to new places.
Jerry and Linda were extremely involved in the Blount County Sheriffs Association and their close connections with all involved. In their younger years they were involved with the Smoky Mountain Trail Riders. (They loved all the ten Walking horses they owned over the many years). His commitment to his community and his steadfast presence will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In keeping with Jerry's wishes, the ceremony will be private in conjunction with Grandview Cemetery.
Jerry's legacy is one of love, commitment, and the simple joy of a life well-lived. May he rest in peace.
