Mr. James C. "JC" Tinman, Sr.

March 7, 1936 — February 16, 2016

James C (JC) Tinman Sr., of Maryville, TN, 79 years of age passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. J.C. was born in Clinton, South Carolina on March 7, 1936, the son of Jesse Leonard and Rachel Kathryn (Davis) Tinman. He was a dedicated member of Fairview United Methodist Church. He loved to sing with the Faithful Men’s group and worship with the Seekers Sunday School Class. J.C. previously lived in Johnson City, TN where he was an active member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. J.C.’s love for the Lord and others was expressed through his work in the community and devotion to his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Nicholas Tinman. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 54 years, Etta Jean (Horne) Tinman, Maryville, TN; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Conrad and Emily Tinman, Maryville, TN; Granddaughter, Jennifer Tinman, Maryville, TN; Grandson Brandon Tinman, Blountville, TN. J.C. is also survived by his treasured brother, Robert (Bob) Tinman of Maryville, TN. The family wishes to thank the church for all their cards, prayers and visits during his illness, the care provided by Dr. Richard Gaddis and Dr. Lane Cook, the Blount County Hospice and the nurses of 2E for their kind words, support, and care of JC during his passing. The family is planning a Celebration of Life at Fairview United Methodist Church for the spring. Cremation by Grandview will be caring for Mr. Tinman.
