Mr. James Samuel (Sam) Hembree

Sam Hembree, age 58, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018. Sam was born September 10, 1960. He worked as a press foreman at The Daily Times for 33 years. He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Sam is preceded in death by his father James Harold Hembree; grandparents Sam and Virgie Irwin and J.N. and Nellie Hembree. He is survived by his son Mychal Hembree and daughter Aimee Cooper; mother Peggy Irwin Hembree; sister and husband Janice and Jerry Garner; nieces Chelsea and husband Andrew Easterly and Julie Garner; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Papaw Sam will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Bailey and Bryson Cooper; and Taylor, Ethan and Connor Hembree. A celebration of Sam’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 5th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3736 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. The Reverend Greg Long will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in memory of Sam.
