Mr. Jackie "Jack" Carmel Jenkins

Jackie Jack Carmel Jenkins age 74 of Alcoa, TN passed away on 11/23/2017 at Blount Memorial Hospital with his son Daniel Jenkins at his side . He was born November 4,1943 in the small town of Unaka, NC to the parents Hoyt and Reba Jenkins. His life started and ended in a small community, but it was a big life. In between, he served his country in the US Army, traveled the world, and raised three kids. He took life as it came, played the cards he was dealt, good or bad, but always came out as a better person. Jack was a great dad to his children, persevering through tragedy and ill health. His love and commitment are evident in his children, who are now great parents, and his grandchildren. Jack never met a stranger and was a social butterfly. A great story teller and friend, father and mentor. Jack’s life is testament to the power of fatherhood, it shows that that a person can rise from the ashes of failure and doubt to be a great dad and hero to his children. And he is. Preceding him in death were his father Hoyt Jenkins, mother Reba Jenkins, children Jack Jenkins Jr and Troy Jenkins (recipient of the Army Soldier’s, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart Medals), brother-in-law Louie Domico, niece Stacy Barrett. He is survived by his brother Danny, sisters Linda Domico and Melody Hackathorn, his son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Sherrie Jenkins, and daughter Janelle Jenkins, grandchildren Kelsie Bogan, Leana Bogan, Tristan Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins, Brenden Jenkins, Troy Jenkins and Brayden Mcilwain.
