Heinrich Frederich “Heinz” Lips, 93, passed away on August 20, 2024. Heinz was an accomplished musician. During his 20s, he had several songs on the Luxembourg hit parade. He went on to entertain the American troops throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa with his band.
In 1985, Heinz married Shirley. The next 20 years were spent working and traveling throughout the world, with 2004 bringing him and his wife to Tennessee. During his time here, he enjoyed woodworking and became an excellent craftsman using his lathe to make beautiful items. Heinz was a very social and positive person who enjoyed everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.
Heinz is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shirley; children Kevin Skolos and Kathy Rabideau; grandchildren Mark (Cassie) Rabideau, Tim (Kristen) Rabideau, Katie (Akbar) Ghous, Teresa (Sam) Traffas, David Rabideau, Ethan Rabideau, Ben Rabideau, and Benedict Dahlheimer in Germany; great-grandchildren Lydia, Julian, Violet, Anabelle, Illiana, Eva, Charles, Elizabeth, Sophia, Ana, Daniel, Cora, Andrew, Lucy, Athena, Xiomara, and Miles; as well as many other family members, friends, and fans.
A Celebration of Life for Heinz will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maryville, TN, with reception to follow.
