Dr. Ronald H. Gibson died in peace at his home on June 5, 2024. Born in 1947, Ronald was a graduate of Clemson University where he received his bachelor’s degree and then Master of Industrial Technology. He later received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. A Navy Veteran, Ronald served on the Board of Regents, and was a member of the Church of God and Izaak Walton League. He was a Professor of Industrial Technology, as well as a business owner in Manufacturing Technology and Instrumentation.

 

Ronald is preceded in death by his father and mother, Louie Elder Gibson and Catherine Gibson, sister Lois Jane Moore, sister Geneva Hollifield, brother Louie Gibson, brother Tommy Gibson, and sister Juanita Kinsland. He is survived by his wife, Gwynn Gibson, son Forrest Gibson, daughter Heather Gibson, brother Claude Gibson, sister Georgia Carter, and grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, and Charis Gibson.

 

Funeral services will be held in the Trinity Chapel, Smith Funeral Home, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 5:00 pm. “And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord; it shall rejoice in his salvation” Psalm 35:9.
