Mrs. Doris Creel Mack

Doris Creel Mack, age 85, of Maryville, TN, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Mahalia Creel, two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her husband of 65 years; Donald W Mack of Maryville; a sister, Grace Creel Koeppe of Maryville; her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Douglas Rowe of Maryville; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Shauna Mack of Mt. Juliet, TN; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Born on April 4, 1932, Doris was the youngest of eight children. She was raised on the family cotton farm in Jones County, Mississippi. After graduating from high school she worked at Eglin AFB, FL, where she met her husband to be, Don. A proud moment for her was achieving her nursing diploma from Baroness Erlanger Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years primarily as a Psychiatric RN, first at Moccasin Bend Psychiatric Hospital in Chattanooga, TN before moving with her husband to Maryville in the early 1980s. She then worked at Peninsula Psychiatric Hospital in Louisville, TN until her retirement. She was a member of Clover Hill Presbyterian Church in Maryville.
