Clayton Edward Narveson

Clayton Edward Narveson passed away on January 20, 2023. Born in Browns Valley, MN on January 27, 1924, Clayton is preceded in death by his parents, Nels and Ella Narveson, five brothers, one sister, and one son-in-law.

Clayton is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty; daughter Julie; son Scott; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many special friends from church and the community.

Clayton was a USMC WWII Veteran, a Tarawa and Iwo Jima survivor, and was an Honorary Colonel in the State of Tennessee. He was a member of Praise Lutheran Church. Believing in helping others, he was active with AA for many years. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved giving patriotic speeches in schools.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 6pm at Rio Revolution Church – Maryville.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Building Project at Praise Lutheran Church (1850 Big Springs Rd, Maryville, TN 37801).
