Carolyn Sue Colwell Long, age 49, died on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born at Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1969. She was the youngest of four sisters. Carolyn attended Maryville High School and graduated from William Blount High School. She was a stay-at-home mother who loved and adored her son, Jerod. Carolyn loved her life, her family and loved to travel. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Franklin A. and Wanda Sue (Yearout) Colwell of Maryville, Tennessee; grandparents, Twenty and Dosha Colwell of Hazard, Kentucky and Franklin E. and Bethel F. Yearout of Maryville, Tennessee; many uncles and aunts on both sides of the families. Carolyn leave behind her beloved son, Jerod Franklin Long; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice F. (Colwell) and Michael Beasley, Linda G. (Colwell) and Charles (Eddie) Vittetoe, Tereasa A. (Colwell) and Billy G. Lawson; three nieces, three nephews, one great nephew, one great niece along with her uncle Larry Colwell and aunt Edith (Colwell) Caine and many cousins. The family would like to recognize special friends, Betty Long and Thelma Campbell and Tammy Oliver Allen for their love and help for Carolyn and Jerod. Services for Carolyn will be determined at a later time.
