Adalee "Lee" Mason

Adalee “Lee” Mason, age 93, passed away on April 14, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Lee was born on July 3, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her husbands, James F. McNew and Richard “Dick” Mason. 

Lee was an outgoing, gregarious, and fun-loving person who loved to play cards and history games. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and often joked that she was a Missouri “show me” girl. She never met a stranger and had a group of high school friends who stayed friends throughout their lifetimes. 

Lee loved traveling and history. She was very adventurous and traveled the world. Lee loved the water and taught swimming at the YMCA in Marietta, Georgia and at girl scout camps throughout her life. She started scuba diving later in life and even bought her first kayak at age 83.

Lee is survived by her daughter Bridget McNew and Gail Todd, son Michael McNew, stepdaughter Kim Hall and her husband Todd, grandchildren Grant and Chad Hall, stepson Jeff Mason, niece Kate Ogle, nephew Mark Ogle, grandniece Vickie Ogle, and grandnephew Sean Ogle.

Lee’s favorite farewell saying was “have fun.” We love you, Lee and we miss you.
